Motor Row Brewing is another one of our local and delicious beer sponsors for this year’s Wedtoberfest. Motor Row strives to make all of their beer styles clean, refreshing and great tasting- and they definitely achieve it. No gimmicks, no crazy names or logos- just real beer for real people. They even source all of their ingredients as locally as possible, and that is something we are on board with because we love supporting local. Learn a little more about them!

A little bit of history: Motor Row Brewing takes its name from the historic Motor/Record Row area located in a landmark building at 2337 S. Michigan Avenue in Chicago’s near south side. Throughout it’s history, the Motor Row neighborhood has been home to many of Chicago’s big shoulders; including Marshall Field and Al Capone who called 22nd and Michigan his home turf.

At the turn of the century, Motor Row was famous for featuring more than 116 different makes of automobiles that were sold on this historic district of Michigan Avenue. Later, Record Row in the 1950’s and 60’s was home to Chicago’s world famous Chess Records and current home of Willie Dixon’s “Blues Heaven” Foundation and museum. Even The Rolling Stones made a pilgrimage to record just up the street. Take a visit to their neighborhood to try their wonderful craft beers and enjoy a part of Chicago history.

What sets Motor Row Brewing apart from other local Chicago breweries?
I could go on forever about this. So here’s a few reasons: We are located in a three story Landmark Building in Historic Motor Row. Motor Row used to house many car manufactures and show rooms. Our Build was Phenix Automotive in the early 1900’s which converted model T’s into pick up trucks. We are a lager focused Brewery with occasional ale. We’ve also got a private event space!

What prompted Motor Row Brewing to sponsor Wedtoberfest/why are you excited to be a sponsor?
It is a great opportunity to promote our soon to be open private event space.

Have a drink with the folks behind Motor Row Brewing at Wedtoberfest this Thursday, September 17th! Purchase your tickets here (we won’t be selling tickets at the door).
